MergeManyToOne!

If you, like I, work in a digital press workshop and sometimes receive businesscards for imposing/printing, and there are X names, which all should have of combination of Y different backs, delivered in 2 PDF files - where all the names are in one file, and all the backs are in another PDF, you know how cumbersome this can be.

Either you merge the files into one, copy all the pages by hand in Acrobat, or you create an imposition template, that most likely only would be useful for this single job, because if there is 5 names and 12 backs, that wouldn’t fit the next time, where it could be 19 names and 3 backs!

Because of this (and mostly, because I love being a nerd), I did a nice little utility, called MergeManyToOne! This can do the trick in just a few mouseclicks, you select both files, and it will merge the files into one PDF for you! If you have the above mentioned 5 fronts and 12 backs, you will end up with 120 pages in just a second, ready for a normal cut & stack imposition.

Try it out for yourself, the program can be found here - I promise, nothing will be logged, monitored, sent to any systems or anything else! Just run “Spillekort.WinForm.exe” and get going!

Free parking in Paris (13. arrondissement)!

You'll most likely not believe me, but you can actually park for free in Paris, at least in the 13. arrondissement!

I lived in Fondation Deutsch for a year, and a narrow, "blind" street next to our place has free parking, see this link to Google Maps for the specific spot:

The downside, of course, is that it is a very small street, and there can be approximately 15 cars there. The interesting part, though, is that in weekends, the local people tend to go out of Paris, and then you can get lucky to get one of those spaces. I've been back and forth from Denmark to Paris for that year, and every time I succeed  to get our car parked - of course, some times there were no vacant spaces, but after 10 PM, there's usually a few vacant!

Plantronics Voyager HD Pro won't turn on, charge etc!

Hi there!

After letting my Plantronics Voyager HD Pro headset being completely drained of power, I couldn't turn it on again, even after several hours of charging. It was red while being charged, but if I clicked the power button, it would fade and blink a few times....

The solution is to put the USB charger into the headset, and with a clip short circuit the two outermost pins at the other end of the cable (the one that normally goes into the computer) with a clip. Do that for 5-10 seconds, and the headset will again charge and turn on :)
